Yesterday, in collaboration with Arab-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (ANCC), NHO, KPMG, GK and Emirates, we hosted an evening event aimed at providing participants with an updated perspective on the current situation in the Middle East.

The evening began with informal networking and mingling among all participants, accompanied by refreshments and drinks.

The program began with a geopolitical update on the region delivered by Senior Researcher Charlotte Lysa from The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).

Following Lysa, a panel discussion was moderated by Ole Johan Sandvær, Chair of the ANCC. The panel aimed to provide participants with an update on Norwegian companies’ presence in the region and how the situation has impacted their operations.

The panel consisted of Bror A. Berge from DNV, Øyvind Willumsen Haugå from Jotun, and Eirik Smaaskjær from TOMRA.

We were also fortunate to receive a highly engaging presentation from Signe Brudeset, Director General at the Regional Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering the government’s perspective on the situation.

To conclude the evening’s professional program, we were pleased to have Christopher Vonheim from the Oslo Chamber of Commerce (OCC) moderate the final panel discussion.

The panel consisted of Charlotte Lysa, Petter Tollefsen, International Director at NHO, and Jan Ludvig Andreassen, Chief Economist at Eika Gruppen. The discussion aimed to provide insights into how to better prepare for future developments in the region.

After the program on stage concluded, the evening continued with further networking and opportunities for discussions. Hot dogs were served to all participants, sponsored by Emirates. At our events, we always aim to facilitate networking and provide a space where participants can connect with both familiar and new faces.

A big thank you to all participants and speakers for a great and successful event!
