Digital ATA Carnet
– Get Ready for the 2026 e-ATA Transition
Widely known as your passport for goods, ATA carnets are now going digital. The new e-ATA Carnet App makes digital customs declaration and transactions possible – ensuring cross-border travel of goods easier, faster and safer.
The e-ATA Carnet app is a digital version of your ATA Carnet, enabling the temporary import and export of goods with the same functionality as a paper carnet, without the need to carry physical documents.
The global transition kick-off is scheduled to start on 1 June 2026 from the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the UK. Other territories are expected to shift to digital procedure in 2-year time. There will be a hybrid solution during the starting weeks to make sure all customs offices are fully digital.
Alongside the e-ATA app there is a desktop version allowing you to download the carnets issued by your chamber of commerce and manage them directly from your favourite browser.
Along with the same functionalities as the app, you can:
- Manage and share your carnets with your trusted team/partner
- Track the status of your carnets as they travel around the world
