ICC Norway: Week of Commission Meetings

Through our commissions, ICC Norway works strategically within key policy areas, including ICC arbitration, banking, trade and finance, and commercial law. This week, each of our commissions held meetings ahead of the summer break.

This week, the Banking Commission met at DNB. The commission consists of 13 representatives from Norway’s largest banks and is chaired by Camilla Stave Svendsen of DNB.

As part of the agenda, ICC Norway and the commission took the opportunity to honour former commission member Finn Slettli for his many years of dedicated contribution to the commission and to the field of trade and finance. Finn stepped down as a retiree on 1 January 2026 and will be missed in the commission.

In addition, we worked together with the commission on preparations for the 2026 Trade and Finance Conference, to be held in November.

Our ICC Arbitration Commission held its meeting on Wednesday, focusing on the development of the commission and its priorities for the autumn of 2026 and spring of 2027.

The final meeting of the week was the first meeting of ICC Norway’s new commission, established to address issues at the intersection of commercial law and customs and trade facilitation. The commission is chaired by Martin Berntzen Often of KPMG. Over the coming months, the commission will be formally established and define its priorities, creating a strong platform for future work on international trade, customs, and commercial law.

With four commission meetings held each year, we now look forward to continuing our work and collaboration in the autumn.
