The Oslo Chamber of Commerce had a strong presence at this year’s Transport & Logistikk-konfernase, with its own stand and active participation across both conference days.

For Oslo Chamber of Commerce / ICC Norway, being part of this year’s conference was of great importance. Our trade documents play a key role in facilitating the transport and certification of goods, ensuring smooth and secure international trade. As Norway’s national committee within the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), our main objective is to promote and work towards seamless global trade and to support the opportunities that international commerce provides. This mission is especially crucial in today’s complex geopolitical landscape.

At our stand, we had the pleasure of meeting both long-time partners and new contacts, as well as engaging with colleagues from across the trade community. Representing our Trade Documents department, two of our specialists were present throughout both conference days. They spoke with numerous visitors, providing valuable insights into the use of ATA Carnets for travelling with goods and the certification of Norwegian products.

Also present was Øyvind Gåseide, former Head of the ICC Norway Banking Commission, who was available to answer questions about the Commission’s work. Finally, we were joined by Christian Lien, ICC Norway’s Incoterms specialist, who offered expert guidance on the use and interpretation of Incoterms.

This year’s conference placed a strong focus on trade and transport in a shifting geopolitical landscape – how to best prepare for the challenges ahead, and which areas will be most critical moving forward. The program also featured an insightful presentation by NHO’s Chief Economist, Øystein Dørum, who discussed how current global economic changes are expected to impact Norway in the years to come.

The conference also placed a strong emphasis on the many opportunities emerging within trade, transport, and logistics. Harald Solberg from Norsk Industri delivered an engaging presentation on how logistics will become a strategic key factor in the years ahead. Topics such as new technologies, the use of drones, and the future labor market were also discussed.
